The Isadora Ear Spiked Cuff by Angie Marei is finely handcrafted in luxurious 18-karat yellow gold and set with natural Red Garnet gemstones. This vibrant and glistening arrangement of gems and long metal spikes is inspired by decorative and colorful Japanese Kanshaji hairpins that were worn to ward off evil spirits and occasionally used as discreet self-defense tools.
The name of the stone, garnet, comes from the Latin word for pomegranate, whose glistening, jewel-like seeds resemble the natural formation of garnet gemstones. Used as an ancient Egyptian talisman, garnet was used for protection and to promote good health, and fertility. Today the garnet is known as the January birthstone.
